Imlil And Asni Valley
We pick you up from your hotel / Riad in Marrakech at 9 am, and then we will head towards the Ourika Valley. After a break in the village of Tafza, including a visit to the typical Berber house with views of the area, we will begin our ascent.
First we will head towards Oukaimeden, one of the few ski slopes in Morocco, and continue along the quiet roads. When we reach almost 2,000 meters high, we will stop to take some pictures to the snow-covered mountains in the background. Then we will begin the descent towards Asni. On the other side of the valley, you can admire many Berber villages in the distance, tucked between the cliffs and lush vegetation. For lunch, they can choose between eating inside a traditional house with a Berber family, or inside the valley at a local restaurant in the nearby town of Asni. A very important Berber souk is held every Saturday, where farmers bring fruit, vegetables and livestock to sell.
After lunch we head towards the Kik plateau, which is more than 1,800 meters high, and offers the most spectacular views of the mountains. Experience the incredible contrast between the two mountain ranges and look around to see the traditional Berber adobe houses scattered throughout the small towns. The vast panorama is interrupted only by the Lalla Takerkoust reservoir. Below, the ruins of kasbahs line the road. Here we will stop for a cup of tea by the lake, and return to Marrakech.
